This kit requires an existing FACTORY OEM ELECTRIC POWER TAILGATE. Please verify that your Mazda CX-5 is equipped with the original electric tailgate before placing an order.
The 2nd Generation Mazda CX-5 uses the model code KF and was introduced for the 2017 model year. It received multiple facelift and equipment updates throughout its production cycle, but these updates did not represent a new generation.
The KF generation continued until the transition to the all-new 3rd Generation CX-5. Mazda officially began sales of the new KM generation in May 2026.
The 3rd Generation Mazda CX-5 uses the model code KM and remains an important current Mazda model. The new generation introduced updated exterior styling, interior technology and electrified powertrain options.
The current KM generation is available with 2WD (FWD) and 4WD configurations depending on market and trim. Mazda's current Japanese specification includes a Power Liftgate on selected grades.
Important: Not every CX-5 trim necessarily has a factory electric power tailgate. Please verify the original tailgate equipment of your vehicle before ordering.
