The 2nd Generation INFINITI QX80 Z62 was introduced for the 2011 model year and replaced the QX56 as INFINITI's flagship full-size luxury SUV.
The Z62 remained in production for more than a decade, receiving several exterior, interior and technology updates during its production run. These updates did not create a new generation.
The 3rd Generation INFINITI QX80 Z63 was completely redesigned for the 2025 model year. INFINITI describes it as a completely redesigned next-generation flagship SUV.
The new Z63 uses a 3.5L twin-turbocharged V6 engine paired with a 9-speed automatic transmission. It introduced a completely redesigned exterior and interior compared with the outgoing Z62.
The Z63 entered U.S. dealerships in 2024 as the 2025 model year and remains in production. INFINITI currently lists the 2027 QX80, confirming that the Z63 generation continues into the current model lineup.
Important: Z62 and Z63 are completely different generations. Please do not use Z62 installation parts or fitment information for Z63 vehicles unless specifically confirmed.
