The current 5th Generation Jeep Grand Cherokee uses the WL platform. The two-row Grand Cherokee is commonly identified by model code WL74, while the three-row Grand Cherokee L uses WL75.
The Grand Cherokee L WL75 was introduced for the 2021 model year as the first three-row Grand Cherokee. The shorter Grand Cherokee WL74 followed for the 2022 model year.
WL74 is the short-wheelbase two-row / five-seat configuration, while WL75 is the long-wheelbase three-row configuration with seating for up to seven passengers.
The Grand Cherokee received a major update for the 2026 model year. This update remains within the 5th Generation WL family and does not create a new generation.
The current 2026 Grand Cherokee lineup continues to include both the standard two-row Grand Cherokee and the three-row Grand Cherokee L. Jeep has also introduced updated powertrain and equipment configurations for the 2026 model year.
Important: WL74 and WL75 have different body lengths and rear-body structures. Although this product is listed for both model codes, please confirm the exact vehicle configuration and tailgate system before ordering.
