Universal Soft Close Door Upgrade Kit Installation Guide (Retain Original Car Lock)

Universal Car Electric Soft Close Door Step-by-Step Installation Manual

Looking to upgrade your vehicle with a premium, quiet, and safe closing experience? Our Universal Soft Close Door Kit allows you to upgrade your car without changing the factory OEM lock mechanism. Follow this comprehensive, step-by-step technical guide to complete the installation smoothly.

⚠️ Crucial Precautions Before Installation

  • No No-Load Powering: Do NOT run the electric suction lock mechanism with no-load power. This is crucial to prevent any deformation of the lock tongue.
  • Remove Cable Ties: Make sure to remove the protective cable tie on the lock tongue before completing the installation to ensure proper and normal operation.
  • Safety Warning: When testing, gently push the door until it is about 8cm away from the vehicle body; it will automatically engage and close. Never place your fingers in the door gap to avoid injury.

🛠️ Complete Installation Steps

  1. Remove the Door Panel: Unscrew all factory securing screws on the interior door panel. Carefully pry open the panel corners using a plastic trim tool and unplug all electronic wiring connectors. Clean up any original soundproofing sponge on the factory lock if present.
  2. Install a Gasket on the Locking Ring: Install a dedicated gasket on the locking ring of the electric suction door system to be installed separately. This step is critical to ensure proper clearance and lock alignment.
  3. Remove the Original Lock Mechanism:
    • If the vehicle has a glass rail, remove it first.
    • If there is a mechanical key structure, loosen the screws and remove it.
    • Disconnect and remove the outer iron strip.
    • Finally, remove the structural screws securing the original OEM car lock.
  4. Install the Suction Lock Structure: Take the suction structure mechanism, place it precisely between the inner door panel and your original factory car lock, align the mounting holes, and secure it tightly with the lock head screws.
  5. Mount and Fix the Motor: Use the provided high-strength 3M glue to fix the motor securely at the absolute bottom of the inner door panel. Note: Make sure the placement does NOT hinder the smooth lifting and lowering of the window glass. If your kit includes a dedicated motor bracket, mount it directly to the corresponding holes on the door panel.
  6. Wiring & Power Connection (Option 1 - Fuse Box): Power up from the 20A fuse box located under the steering wheel, and connect the ground wire firmly to the A-pillar screws. ⚠️ CRITICAL WARNING: The ground wire MUST be attached to the dedicated factory grounding screw/A-pillar ground. DO NOT randomly attach it to any door panel screws! Otherwise, the system will fail to work, or it will stop working after a short period due to poor grounding. Unplug the original car's 20A fuse and plug in the power cord of the electric suction door. Route the power and ground wires through a corrugated pipe into the four door panels according to the length, then connect the suction module (The yellow wire represents constant power).
  7. Wiring & Power Connection (Option 2 - Door Panel Plug): Unplug the original connector on the door panel and use our 3-way tee plug connector to draw power directly. Secure the tee plug tightly with a cable tie, ensuring the port faces downwards to prevent water ingress and short circuits.
  8. System Testing & Reassembly: Use a tool to manually toggle the deadbolt of the electric suction mechanism to the first level to verify if the motor activates normally. Perform a complete door-close test. If everything operates smoothly, tidy up the door panel wiring harness and restore all decorative panels back to their original positions.

🚗 Wide Vehicle Compatibility & OEM Fitment

Because this system retains your original factory lock, it offers universal compatibility across a massive range of luxury and standard car platforms. It is widely compatible for retrofitting upgrade interfaces on popular platforms, including but not limited to:

  • For German Luxury Series: Compatible for BMW (3/5/7 Series, X1, X3, X5), Mercedes-Benz (C/E/S Class, GLC), Audi (A4, A6, Q5), and Volkswagen & Skoda platforms.
  • For European & Global Models: Perfect upgrade for Land Rover, Jaguar, Peugeot (3008, 5008), Renault, Toyota, and alternative high-value car modification platforms.
