🛠️ LiTanglee® Phase 4: Advanced Troubleshooting & Technical Guide

Welcome to Phase 4 of the LiTanglee® Technical Resource Center. This guide covers common issues after installation, including wiring checks, signal troubleshooting, and mechanical adjustments.

If your power tailgate does not work as expected after installation, please check the following solutions before contacting technical support.

⚡ Section 1: Electrical & Wiring Diagnostics

🚨 Q1: Why does my tailgate automatically open while driving after installing the kick sensor?

Cause:
The ACC wire is not connected correctly.

Solution:
The ACC wire is required to disable the kick sensor while driving and prevent accidental tailgate opening. Please check the ACC connection according to the installation manual and make sure it is connected to the correct switched power source.

🔌 Q2: Why does the tailgate have no response after completing the wiring?

Cause:
Incorrect wiring connection, especially an incorrect or loose ground wire connection.

Solution:
Please check all wiring connections according to the installation manual. The ground wire (GND) is one of the most commonly missed connections. Make sure the ground wire is firmly connected to a clean metal grounding point.

🔑 Q3: Why does my original car key fob fail to open or close the tailgate?

Cause:
CAN H / CAN L wires or vehicle signal wires are not connected correctly.

Solution:
Please check the CAN connection or signal wire connection according to your vehicle-specific wiring diagram. Different vehicle models may use different control signals.

🔘 Q4: Why can my cabin button close the tailgate but cannot open it?

Cause:
The external tailgate handle signal wire (white wire) is not connected correctly.

Solution:
Please check the white signal wire connection and make sure it is connected according to the wiring diagram.

🔩 Section 2: Mechanical Adjustment & Calibration

🛑 Q5: Why does my tailgate stop halfway during closing?

Possible Causes:
1. Ground wire connection issue.
2. Power connection issue on some Right-Hand Drive (RHD) vehicles.

Solution:
First, check that the ground wire is connected correctly.
For some RHD vehicles, if the ground connection is confirmed correct but the issue remains, please try swapping the left and right power strut connectors.

🖐️ Q6: Why does the tailgate close halfway and then open again automatically?

Cause:
The smart anti-pinch function has been activated.

Solution:
The control module detects resistance during the closing process and activates the safety protection function.

Please check the following:

  • Any object blocking the tailgate closing path
  • Trunk trim panels interfering with movement
  • Rubber seals causing extra resistance
  • Hinge movement issues
  • Wiring or cables affecting the tailgate operation

Remove any obstruction and make sure the tailgate can move smoothly before testing again.

🔒 Q7: Why does the tailgate open again when it reaches the bottom latch?

Cause:
The lower latch striker position is not adjusted correctly.

Solution:
When the tailgate reaches the latch position, an incorrect latch alignment may cause the system to detect a locking problem and reopen the tailgate for safety.

Please check the lower latch installation:

  • Make sure the lower latch striker is aligned correctly with the upper latch mechanism
  • Check whether the latch position is too far forward, backward, left, or right
  • Adjust the latch position and test again until the tailgate closes and locks smoothly

📐 Q8: Why can't my tailgate close completely?

Possible Causes:
1. The interior trim panel has not been reinstalled, causing insufficient tailgate weight.
2. The closing force setting is too low.

Solution:
Please reinstall the interior trim panel first and test again. The original trim panel adds weight to the tailgate and helps the latch engage correctly.

If the problem remains after reinstalling the trim panel, please adjust the closing force according to the adjustment instructions.

🚗 Q9: Why is there a large gap or uneven alignment after closing?

Cause:
The lower latch striker position is not aligned correctly.

Solution:
The latch striker position directly affects the final tailgate alignment.

Please adjust the lower latch striker position until:

  • The left and right panel gaps are symmetrical
  • The tailgate closes smoothly
  • The latch engages correctly

After adjustment, tighten the mounting bolts and test the tailgate operation again.

🔒 Q10: Why does my power tailgate stop with a large gap before fully closing?

Possible Cause:
The closing force is not strong enough to fully engage the latch.

Solution:
First, try pushing the tailgate upward manually after it stops. If you can push it further and fully close the tailgate, the closing force needs to be increased.

To increase the closing force:

  1. Press and hold the Close Button installed on the tailgate.
  2. Continue holding the button until you hear three beeps.
  3. The closing force adjustment is now complete.
  4. Test the tailgate again to make sure it can fully close and latch.

Note:
Some vehicle models use a different closing force adjustment procedure. If the adjustment is not successful, please contact our technical support team for assistance.

🔧 Q11: Why does my power tailgate leave a gap of about 2 cm and cannot fully close?

Possible Cause:
The spacer on the vehicle-side strut ball stud bracket has not been installed, or the power strut and ball stud are not properly secured.

Solution:
Please install the spacer supplied with the strut ball stud bracket onto the vehicle-side bracket.

Also check the following:

  • Make sure the supplied spacer is installed correctly
  • Check that the power strut and ball stud are properly aligned
  • Make sure the strut and ball stud are securely locked into position

After completing the adjustment, test the tailgate again. It should be able to close completely without leaving a gap.
